Brain Sprinkles 147

Creativity is one of the most important things a human being can express. It’s good for our brains, our hearts, and our souls. It allows people to explore themselves and others in a deep way, something introspection and discussion can’t always do. When consuming others’ creative works, you’re getting a piece of who they are as a person, whether they wanted or intended that or not.

Creativity allows us to function as a society. We’re not merely surviving—we’re living, hour to hour and day to day. How we spend our time digesting others’ creative works—whether that’s a movie, a novel, or a collection of poems—is important to how we grow as people and a community of human beings. I hope reading about the creative content I enjoy (or don’t) gets your creative juices flowing and inspires you to make something great and uniquely your own. At the very least maybe you’ll discover something new you might be interested in.

Attack on Titan

Anime
Attack on Titan

My friend and I decided to rewatch the amazing anime Attack on Titan in anticipation for the long-awaited second season. As I remember, Attack on Titan is a fantastic show, and there’s a good reason why it’s the most popular anime among non-anime-watchers. It’s horrifying, too; imagine a world where giant, naked, stupid humans roam around and eat regular folk for no good reason, and limited technology makes killing them incredibly difficult. Attack on Titan is good at making legitimate drama and keeping you hooked from one episode to the next. Watch it if you never have.

Louis C.K. - 2017

Movie
Louis C.K.: 2017

Just like Chappelle, Louis C.K. is back. His new special, 2017, is great. I love how Louis holds no punches when talking about some truly dark stuff. The first half hour of his show is about abortion and suicide. He’s insightful and hilarious, but I think Chappelle still has him beat.

Bear Hands

Music
Bear Hands

Bear Hands in an interesting band. Great rocky, pop-y vibes. Unfortunately, they’re one of the rare bands who’ve gotten less catchy over time. Their first album is great, their second is slightly less great, and I’d call their latest album good. Check out Giants, Tablasarus, and High Society.
